Description
Rental properties, trade fits and kitchens built around stainless appliances are the usual destination for the BITK260GHX, a 60cm four-burner gas hob in stainless steel. A 3.4kW wok burner anchors the layout, with three smaller burners around it.
Steel takes knocks better than glass, which is the main argument for this version over the black glass BITK260GHB. It is also the lighter of the two at 8.03kg net against 12.2kg, worth knowing where a worktop is being retrofitted or an installer is working alone.
Heat output is the headline. The 3.4kW burner suits a wok, a large pan or a pressure cooker, while the smaller burners hold a simmer without scorching. Cast iron pan supports carry the weight of cast iron and stoneware without flexing, and lift off alongside the control knobs when the hob needs a proper clean.
Safety is handled by a flame failure device that cuts the gas supply if a flame goes out, and electronic ignition that fires from the control knob. LPG jets are included, so conversion for bottled gas is a job for the installer rather than a parts order. Installation needs a 56.0cm by 48.0-49.0cm cutout. The hob measures 58.0 x 52.0 x 9.69cm and connects to a hard-wired supply through a 1.5m cord.
