The TK2W814HW is the volume seller of the 2 Series: a white 8kg freestanding washing machine at 1400rpm with an A energy rating. Eight kilos suits a household of three or four, handling a week of mixed clothing, a double duvet set or a full load of towels without being asked to work at its limit every time.
Steam is worth pointing out at the counter. Delivered into the drum during the wash, it helps release soiling at lower temperatures and softens creasing, so bedding comes out cleaner and shirts need less work with the iron. The 1400rpm spin then removes more water before the load ever reaches the airer, which cuts drying time whichever method the customer uses.
Fifteen programmes cover cottons, synthetics, delicates and wool, with a 15 minute quick wash for lightly worn items and an eco wash that lowers temperature and lengthens the cycle to reduce energy use. An inverter motor runs the drum with fewer wearing parts, the LED display shows the time remaining and a child lock secures the panel.
It measures 59.5cm wide, 54cm deep and 84.5cm high and weighs 58kg net, so it sits in a standard appliance gap with space behind for the hoses. Spin noise peaks at 74dB. Power is a standard 220-240V 50Hz supply and the machine ships with a fitted 3-pin UK plug.
