The TKW12142HW is a 12kg freestanding washing machine at 1400rpm with an A energy rating, aimed squarely at larger households. A drum of this size handles a king size duvet, a full set of bedding or several days of family washing in a single cycle, which is where the time saving comes from compared with a standard 8kg machine.
Sixteen programmes give it one more option than the rest of the Teknix washer range, covering cottons, synthetics, delicates, wool and a dedicated quick cycle. The 15 minute quick wash matters more on a machine this large, because it means small refresh loads do not have to be run through a long programme in a big drum.
Steam is introduced during the wash to help loosen soiling without raising the temperature and to relax creasing in heavy cottons, which makes bedding and shirts easier to handle afterwards. The 1400rpm spin then extracts enough water that bulky items are noticeably lighter going onto the line or into a dryer. An eco wash lowers the temperature across a longer cycle for everyday mixed loads.
An inverter motor drives the drum with fewer wearing parts, the LED display shows the programme and time remaining, and a child lock secures the panel. Physical dimensions are 60cm wide, 66cm deep and 85cm high, so the depth needs checking against the worktop. Net weight is 72kg and spin noise peaks at 72dB.
