Description
Nine kilos is the sensible step up from a standard 8kg machine, giving a family of four enough room for a double duvet or a week of towels without pushing the drum to its limit on every cycle. The TK5W914HW does that at 1400rpm with an A energy rating, in a white finish that suits most kitchens.
Leaving a little space in the drum is what makes a larger capacity worth paying for. Clothes need room to move through the water for detergent to work properly, so a 9kg machine running a 6kg load washes better than an 8kg machine packed full. The 1400rpm final spin then removes more water, cutting both line drying time and tumble dryer running costs.
Steam supports the wash, helping lift soiling at lower temperatures and softening creases in cottons and bedding. A 15 minute quick wash deals with lightly worn clothing, and the eco wash lowers the temperature over a longer cycle for everyday mixed loads where speed is not the priority.
Fifteen programmes cover cottons, synthetics, delicates and wool, selected on the LED display, and a child lock protects the settings mid-cycle. An inverter motor drives the drum directly. Dimensions are 59.5cm wide, 58cm deep and 84.5cm high, with a net weight of 63kg and spin noise peaking at 72dB. It runs on a 220-240V supply with a fitted 3-pin UK plug.
