Description
Six burners is an unusual specification in a domestic hob, and the BITK290GH6B is for kitchens that genuinely use them: large households, keen cooks, or anyone running several pans through a service. Two of the six are 4.2kW wok burners rather than one.
Having two high-output burners rather than one changes how the hob is used. A wok and a stockpot can run at full heat simultaneously, instead of taking turns on the single large burner that most hobs offer. The remaining four cover sauces, sides and simmering without being crowded out.
Cast iron pan supports span the full width, so pans move across the surface rather than being lifted between burners, which is a real consideration when six pans are in play. The supports and knobs lift off for washing, and the black glass beneath is a single piece with no joins for spills to find. A flame failure device cuts the gas supply if a burner is extinguished, and ignition is electronic from the knob.
LPG jets are included for bottled gas conversion. Note the dimensions: the hob measures 91.7 x 51.0 x 9.59cm overall but drops into an 83.0cm by 48.0-49.0cm cutout, so the glass overlaps the worktop by some margin. Net weight is 21.89kg and connection is hard wired through a 1.5m cord.
