Description
Kitchens that want a flush, uncluttered worktop are the natural home for the BITK260CHS, a 60cm ceramic hob operated entirely through touch sliders. Four zones, two at 1800W and two at 1200W, cover everyday cooking, and each runs across nine power levels.
A slider rather than plus and minus buttons is the practical difference here. Moving a finger along the scale takes a zone from a rolling boil to a low simmer in one movement, instead of tapping down level by level while the pan runs away. For anything that needs a quick drop in heat, such as milk, sauces or anything with sugar in it, that matters.
The surface is a single piece of glass with no knobs or trim to work around, so boil-overs wipe off rather than collecting in seams. Residual heat indicators show which zones are still warm after cooking, and automatic safety switch off cuts power if the hob is left unattended or a control is obstructed.
Maximum power is 6000W, which puts this on a hard-wired cooker connection rather than a 13A plug, and 1m of cord is supplied. The aperture required is 56.0 x 49.0cm, with the hob measuring 58.0 x 51.0 x 5.0cm and weighing 8.2kg. Those are standard 600mm dimensions, so it drops into existing cutouts on most replacement jobs.
