Description
Fitters and specifiers who want straightforward controls rather than touch panels should look at the BITK260CHK, a 60cm ceramic hob with four zones and conventional rotary knobs. Two 1800W zones and two 1200W zones give a sensible split for a family kitchen, each adjustable across nine power levels.
Knob control earns its place in households where touch panels are awkward: wet hands, gloved hands, or anyone who prefers to set a level by feel rather than by looking. The setting stays where it is put, and there is no re-tapping if a control is brushed in passing.
Residual heat indicators mark any zone still hot after use, and automatic safety switch off removes power if the hob is left running. The ceramic surface is a single flat panel, so spills sit on top rather than running into joints, and a damp cloth deals with most of them.
Maximum load is 6000W, so the hob must be hard wired rather than plugged in, and a 1m cord is supplied for connection to a cooker point. The cutout is 56.0 x 49.0cm and the hob itself measures 58.0 x 51.0 x 5.0cm, weighing 8.2kg net. That is a standard 600mm aperture, so it swaps into most existing ceramic or solid-plate installations without joinery work.
