Description
A teak finish is the lighter of the two wood options on the Teknix hostess trolley range, and the TK2HOSTT is otherwise identical to its mahogany and stainless siblings. This is serving equipment: it holds cooked food at temperature in three warming dishes, and does not cook from raw.
The practical case for a trolley like this is timing. Dishes that finish at different points can be plated up and held, so everything reaches the table together instead of the first course cooling while the last one finishes. Output is split across three levels at 95W on the upper section, 130W in the middle and 190W at the bottom.
A sliding lid rather than a lift-off one is the right choice for a dining room. It retracts to give access to the dishes and then closes again to keep the heat in, with no hot lid to set down on a side table. Three warming dishes come with the unit.
Storage sits underneath, behind cupboard doors with two shelves for crockery and serving tools. The trolley measures 72.0 x 45.0 x 68.0cm and weighs 34.0kg net, supplied with a 3-pin UK plug and covered by a two-year warranty when registered. Packaged, it is 78.0 x 50.5 x 75.0cm, so access routes are worth measuring first.
