Description
Compact kitchens, utility rooms and holiday lets rarely justify a full-width hob, and the BITK230CHT covers that gap with two ceramic zones across a 29cm panel. The 1800W zone takes the pan doing the work while the 1200W zone handles a sauce or vegetables alongside it, both adjustable through nine power levels.
Touch control keeps the surface flat and unbroken, so there are no knobs or raised collars for spills to collect around, and the glass is a single piece, so cleaning is a wipe rather than a dismantling job. Nine levels matter more here than on gas, because ceramic holds heat; stepping down from nine to three gives a genuine simmer without having to lift the pan clear of the zone.
Residual heat indicators stay lit for each zone until the glass has cooled enough to touch, which is worth having where worktop space is tight and the hob doubles as a landing area. Automatic safety switch off cuts the power if a zone is left running or a control is covered.
Maximum power draw is 3000W on a 220-240V supply, and the hob sits in a 27.5 x 49.0cm cutout. Overall it measures 29.0 x 51.0 x 5.0cm and weighs 3.97kg net, so a 300mm base unit takes it without modification. Two zones rather than four is the trade-off, but the right call where worktop width is the constraint.
